Based on the 2018 namesake book by Chris Bohjalian, ‘The Flight Attendant tells the story of Cassie Bowden (Kaley Cuoco), who wakes up one morning beside her dead lover in a hotel in Bangkok. What follows is a campy whodunnit that involves international arms trade, espionage, and even more deaths. Steve Yockey, known for his work on shows like ‘Supernatural,’ is the creator of the series.
Cuoco brings her natural charm to a character – who could have potentially become exhausting because of the self-destructive choices she makes throughout the season – and transforms her into someone who is genuinely likable. Upon its release, the show received positive reviews, with critics praising Cuoco’s performance as well as the show’s look and atmosphere. If season 1 has left you craving for more, here is what we know about ‘The Flight Attendant’ season 2!
The Flight Attendant Season 2 Release Date: When Will It Premiere?
‘The Flight Attendant’ season 1 premiered on November 26, 2020, on HBO Max, and ran for eight episodes before concluding on December 17, 2020.
The show was created as a miniseries with no plans for a second season. However, according to Cuoco, now they have started to give the subject serious consideration. During an interview, Caley said, “It was meant to be a limited series for sure, but we’d really like to do a season two.” If the second season does get greenlit, and the production begins at some point in early 2021, we expect The Flight Attendant’ season 2 to release sometime in late 2021 or 2022.
The Flight Attendant Season 2 Cast: Who can be in it?
Aside from Cuoco, ‘The Flight Attendant’ stars Michiel Huisman as Alex Sokolov, T. R. Knight as Davey Bowden, Colin Woodell as Buckley Ware, Zosia Mamet as Annie Mouradian, Michelle Gomez as Miranda Croft, Rosie Perez as Megan Briscoe, Merle Dandridge as Kim Hammond, Griffin Matthews as Shane Evans, and Nolan Gerard Funk as Van White. Most members of the main cast are likely to reprise their roles if there is a season 2, including Huisman, whose character continues to appear throughout season 1 as a projection in the protagonist’s mind, despite being killed in the pilot episode itself.
The Flight Attendant Season 2 Plot: What can it be About?
In the season finale, Miranda kills Victor and takes Alex’s copy of ‘Crime and Punishment’ from him. She is later ambushed by Buckley. Cassie acquires a gun from one of her Italian friends and later shoots Buckley with it. Shane comes to her rescue, revealing himself to be a CIA agent who was assigned to keep an eye on Megan. Miranda takes out the page containing the codes to Alex’s account and leaves the rest of the book for Cassie. After realizing that she has been stealing state secrets from her husband’s company for the North Korean government, Megan embarks on a journey to fix things.
In season 2, Cassie might start working as an asset for the CIA and later go after Megan. Buckley, with how psychotic and resourceful he is, might escape from jail and come after Cassie. Miranda might use the money to negotiate with her organization. Cassie and Davey’s relationship is finally healing. There is a high chance that she might get to see her nieces once again.
