The Curse of Oak Island Season 8 Episode 5 Recap:

Episode 5 sheds more light on the boulder theory. In the previous episode, the Laginas delve into the Knight Templar theory. They believe that there is some kind of line from Versailles, which crosses the Temple Mount and ends in Oak Island. This means that the Knights could have hidden their treasure on the island. The Laginas believe that the gold may be stashed deep inside the murky depths of the Menorah.

When Erin Shelton brings the Zena Halpern map, she explains that there is a possibility that the boulders on the island serve as ‘anchors’ — directing to the Treasure Vault, i.e. the original Money Pit. So, the Laginas pick up their shovels and start digging. And they find a marked rock! Alex Lagina looks at the rock and tries to decipher if the markings are the work of humans or nature. On the other hand, Marty Lagina is doubtful about the Zena Halpern map. But he does trust Erin.

However, whatever be the case, either way, the crew has to do a lot of digging! Maybe, the boulders point to the Money Pit or maybe they don’t. The team will get the answer only when they dig. And this is what they do! And luckily, they find a ‘lock’, which can be used to open a cabinet. Again, this is an assumption. Only the next episodes will tell if the theories of the Laginas are true.
